I just watched the “Naked Wizard Being Tased” video
but my reaction wasn’t “ha-ha, look at the crazy naked guy” it was rage at the police for tasing him. What danger was he presenting precisely? In what world does being naked or not automatically agreeing with the police make you deserving of being tased?Imagine instead the police had beaten him with their billy clubs. Would anyone have though that justifiable? Just because tasing isn’t supposed to cause permanent damage doesn’t mean that it should be used whenever someone is being uncooperative. This just reinforces my belief that the taser is a dangerous power to give to the police, and until they can implement regulations for using it that don’t shock the conscience, they ought to be outlawed. Of course that’ll never happen.
