Jetliner
It was when I was coming
home from Cincinnati, sitting
alone in the back of the car,
thinking about how much one airport
looks like every other airport.
I saw it out the window, glimmering, shining,
floating high in the air, almost stationary.
Bright aluminum reflecting the sunlight,
hanging in space for such a long time,
dazzling in spite of itself.
I wrote this nine months ago or so - I don’t know what compells me to share it today, but here it is.
