This is one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen in an online store. The website of Zingerman’s, a specialty food seller in Ann Arbor, MI, features illustrations of the products they sell. I don’t mean illustrations of different categories, like a drawing of a generic tin can; these are stylish renderings of each product’s actual packaging. It took me a few minutes of browsing to comprehend this.
I can’t think of anything else like this; The Wall Street Journal’s drawings are the only thing that comes close.
By the way, Zingerman’s food selection is pretty great, as are the prices. Smooth service, too.

Zingerman’s is truly an awesome place - they operate a deli and market (and their sandwiches are not only fantastic but enormous), and they also operate a restaurant called Zingerman’s Roadhouse. There is nothing on the menu that isn’t fantastic, but their BBQ brisket is the best I’ve ever had. It’s a little spendy for us poor graduate students, but it’s some seriously good eats.
