Hm. So, I guess I should preface this by stating unequivocally how reprehensible I think Holocaust denial is and how ignorant I think any believer in it must be.
So, that being said, there’s no such thing as “hiding behind the veil of free speech in America”. There’s just “exercising the right to free speech in America.”
We don’t get to like everything other people say, and the Crimson obviously doesn’t have to take this guy’s money (in fact, they now say it was a mistake and an oversight), and if they don’t want to it’s not a 1st Amendment issue at all. But if this guy want sot say shit like this and can find a forum to do so then that’s that.
And if you don’t agree or like what he’s saying, the wonderful fact is that you, too, can get up and say what you think and feel! (via BoingBoing
