Moving
So. I found out at the end of the week before Christmas that I got the job that I wanted. I’m going to be living in Little Rock, AR, which will be a pretty new experience for me - I’ve never lived south of Pittsburgh, and I’ve really never even visited a southern state besides Florida.
I start work January 11th, and I’m actually going to Little Rock the third. I just found out that the moving truck will be here Monday to pick my stuff up (if, like me, you’ve never used movers before, it turns out that they don’t tell you when your stuff will be picked up or dropped off, they just give you a window and then you wait for word. It’s like the cable company’s evil big brother.
I’m really excited to start the new job, because I’ve been idling since late October. I’ve had a few things to take care of, but not nearly enough to occupy me. The moving process is pretty nerve-wracking, but at least now I have concrete things to do.
I’m betting the culture shock will give me some things to write about, but right now I’m really just looking forward to going to a Waffle House for the first time in many years :)
