What the. No. No. It is wrong and unjust and just NOT RIGHT to put commas outside quotation marks. Just thinking about it makes me break out in hives.

I’m taking Jack’s side in the war against Nick Douglas and awkwardly placed commas.

Sure. I mean, if you want to keep misquoting people, implying the source material had a comma in it when it didn’t, take Jack’s side.

I’m signing up with the Brits on this.

Team Outside!

Outside makes so much more sense - in quotes means you took it from a source. Was there a comma in the source? Then there shouldn’t be in the quote. CMoS, MLA, APA, OMGWTFBBQ be damned
